Social Networking Sites

California Southern Baptist Convention has several social media venues to inform California Southern Baptists about ministries, events, news and the like. In order to expand and build our CSBC network California Southern Baptists and others are encouraged to like CSBC on Facebook and/or to follow CSBC on Twitter.

CSBC also encourages those looking at Facebook posts to share with their friends. Those on Twitter are encouraged to retweet. Don't be afraid to invite your friends to like one of the CSBC Facebook pages, or to share a post you think your friends would want to know about. The same is true for Twitter.

CSBC encourages those not currently utilizing Facebook or Twitter to join both social media venues to stay informed about up-to-date news, information and events related to your state Baptist convention. However, persons who are not members of either social media platform can view posts by clicking on the following links.

Facebook is a global social networking website which helps individuals and organizations, like CSBC, keep up with friends and constituents, share information, photos, links and videos, and learn more about the those who like them. Keep up with the following on Facebook:

Don Hargis

FRESNO - "I had sensed God's call for awhile, but my goal was to play football," Don Hargis says.

Since 1992 Don has served as Baptist men's ministries specialist with the California Southern Baptist Convention (CSBC) missions discipleship group.

"Playing football was all that I wanted to do," Don continued. "Preaching did not fall into that. God did not let me know about Baylor or any other Southern Baptist school that had football programs. He knew that if I had gone there I might not have become a preacher."

Born into a military family that included an older brother and younger sister, Don spent many childhood years in Okinawa; however, when Don was 14 years old, his father was transferred to Lowry Air Force Base in Denver.

California Southern Baptist Convention and especially the church starting group would like to thank CSBC churches for their gifts to the Cooperative Program which were used to start 35 new congregations during the first quarter of 2013.

Please remember these new and newly affiliated churches and missions, their pastors and members in your prayers as they serve the Lord in communities throughout California.

If you would like to find out how you or your church can expand its reach for Christ by starting a new congregation, please contact the Church Starting Group at 559.256.0863 or csg@csbc.com. You can start a church or mission.

Please click on the CSBC logo to see the list of churches that were started.
